Manual shower valves are not thermostatically controlled. Which means that the temperature that comes out of the shower head can vary and is not guaranteed. For example if someone flushes the toilet, this can leads to a burst of very hot water coming through the shower handset or head. These valves are not suitable for young children or elderly people to use. The advantage of these valves is that as they are more simply designed they tend to have a better flow of water than thermostatically controlled valves.
